I have many bars with violins playing tremolo semibreve chords; the tremolo symbol appears beneath the chords, and I would like to position it above them. Is there an easy way to do this? I've tried editing the articulation definition , but this does not work, and I have to manually reposition the symbol.

I made a copy of the tremolo articulation and made the highlighted modifications in its definition. All tremolo were then, by default, placed above the note.

That picture looks like v26. 2014.5 doesn't have the same functionality as v26.

Finale puts the tremolo sign on the stem side of a note, even if there is no stem. Probably the easiest way to flip them is select the measures with the Selection Tool and choose Utilities > Stem Direction > Up.

Thanks very much for all of your replies. I am still using Finale 14.5, but I've now managed to position the tremolo symbol above the semibreves.
