The latest Sneak Peek blog on Finale 27 starts "We are officially one week away from the launch of Finale v27!"

That would suggest out on 15th. (MM do seem to release things on a Tuesday.)

Ha! Not I!

Oh wait, I'm retired from ASCAP. You had me there for a second.

i'm still waiting for all the exciting new features and rapid bug fixes that makemusic promised when we paid them to refactor and rewrite the software in V25.

So far, it doesn't exist. The list of new and exciting features from V25-V27 could fill about 10 lines of plain text I think. In the meantime, musescore gets better and better.

I think I'll go with motet, waiting one or two updates before upgrading to 27, because you can rely on MM to fix the new bugs of new releases.
But what with the old bugs?

Old bug. Not fixed.

I generally wait about 6 months before upgrading, but the "reminder" screens whenever I fire up Finale are new this time 'round..

Still, I think I will be able to resist the siren call for at least two or three patches, etc.

I have to say that I have been left feeling seriously underwhelmed by the supposed list of fixes in V27. Having bought V26 well over a year ago on the understanding that it (and subsequent patches - the last of which was over a year ago) contained updates which would be 'invisible to the user' I had hoped for a long list of actual fixes to the program code to be part of the V27 release. Sadly it looks like they have concentrated on things which could be changed with as little work to any underlying code as possible. Although font and instrument-list improvements are obviously welcome, the fixing of mid-term (and long-term) issues would have been even more so.

I am beginning to think that MakeMusic have no programmers left with the necessary skills to analyse existing code (probably written by others - so possibly not well documented [as an ex-programmer/analyst myself I can sympathise with how difficult this can make things]) and correct outstanding issues.

I too will not be upgrading unless future patches to V27 prove my suspicions wrong.
