How to arrange document windows

Suppose I have a lot of documents open, and I want to arrange them (Window > Tile Windows Horizontally / Vertically). I tried switching them around to where I want them -- sometimes some stick, sometimes not. It is laborious to go through Cascade -- re-arrangement can be done there, and translates back to Horizontal & Vertical. Is there an easy way?
