I apologize for yet another post since I migrated to the latest Finale upgrade, but this version acts a lot different than 2014.5, and I can't find find some of the solutions.

I have two staves (vocals) that I'd like to group to appear as one vocal part. When I use the staff tool to group them it does nothing. When I try to edit the new vocal part I'm only shown individual staves, so editing them is impossible. I'd like to see two staves, one treble and one bass, but I can't get them to appear together. This issue is new to me, as it was so easy in the 2014.5 version.

Thanks, as always.

You mention 'one vocal part' but 'on two staves'. Can you explain that a little more? Do you need brackets, or do you simply want them to appear next to each other?

Have you used manage parts to create a single vocal part of both staves?

I traditionally use a two stave score for the singers. Female and male. I've written them on separate staves and want to bracket them so they both appear in the 'Vocals' part. Never had any trouble with this before...

Go to Manage Parts and look at the Vocals part.

You have to add the group and bracket from the part.

I'm not getting what I'm doing wrong with this part of the score. I can't even get the part name to show up. I consistently get Part 19 or Part 20, and not the Vocals that I have been inserting. Part 19 I have been calling Fem. Voc. and Part 20 Male Voc., but I want them to appear on the same page (part) as a Group. As I've said before, this was a standard thing I do with all of my big band vocal duets. Now, I can't get Finale to recognize this group. There has got to be a default setting that I'm missing.

I have attached a tiny excerpt, and you can see that all of the other instruments have their names in their part except for the bottom 2 staves. I'm officially lost...

There is no setting you're missing.

Staff19 and Staff20 are your vocal staves. You can rename them from the Staff tool if you want. The staff has a name as well as the staff labels you put on it.

You need to create a new part and add those staves to it to get what you want. You can probably delete Part19 and Part20. Read up on Manage Parts.

In the future, if you use the Score Manager to add new instruments to your score, it will be less confusing.

Thank you. Man, I feel like a real dope. Of course you use the Manage Parts. Forgot all about that.

Thanks for your advise and, more importantly, your patience.
