They just release a update to PL. I don't know what all is in it yet as I don't have a score ready to run it on.

I would like Finale to explain why it will not allow Perfect Layout to be programmed in a faster language.
Finale is handicapping its own users with this unreasonable policy.

My understanding talking with Jan Angermüller is the Lua script program is still 32-bit. As long as or until they do a 64-bit re-write it will be somewhat handy capped. It is still worth it, IMHO.

32-bit instructions are no slower than 64-bit ones, so I'd be surprised if that influenced the slowness (though it may impose other limitations). Rather, I suspect the slowness has to do with how both Finale's plug-in kit and JW Lua work.

It was. I think if you write plug-ins with the Finale Plug-in Development Kit (PDK) it runs faster. It's been many years since they distributed the kit (I know--I've asked), so I believe Jan doesn't have access to it, and that's what engelbach refers to. JW Lua provides an interface to the PDK, but imparts its own overhead.
