HI
I have a score with four parts, there is something either corrupt with the app or the file. Every time I make an adjustment to this one part— it will revert back to an incorrect version as soon as I move to the Score or a different Part.
Out of frustration and 1hr of lost time, I just saved copy as a pdf (while the part still held the corrections). BUT the PDF is also switching to an incorrect version! I can watch the file change format as soon as I hit "save as pdf".
I believe this is something to do with etc MUltimeasure rests. When I save the document options, it will not save my selections.
Please anyone see this or know of a reason?
I've tried:
save/ close/ reopen
restart
save a copy as
extract a part
Thanks for any help

Would you be willing to post the file to see if others have the same problem?

karlkaminski,
My first guess is that the culprit is a specific document setting:
Document Options > Multimeasure Rests
De-select the option
Update Automatically
The option {Update Automatically} is meant for the initial phase where you enter the music via Scroll View.
{Update Automatically} will break a multimeasure rest as you (from Scroll View) enter notes into an empty measure.
At the same time {Update Automatically} will reset the widths of all other measures (not just the widths of multimeasure rests).
Since you are now in the end phase where you have finished entering music, and are finetuning the layout, you can safely de-select {Update Automatically}.

Thanks guys, I think the 'Update Automatically' may be the ticket.
but this leads me to another question; if you can't add MUltimeasure rests without a clearing items- you'd need to place them at the beginning of your layout process?
I know this situation isn't the norm but if scoring long periods of rest for the performer I'd like to give them audible cues to prep them approaching their entrance (hence the Chords added to the guitar part during the MM rests). Ive used cue measures, is there an easy way to 'manually override' and create MM rests anywhere/any part/score?

Select the region (empty measures !), Edit -> Multimeasure Rests -> Create.

Hi MIchelp
yes thats how you create a multimeasure rest. I understand that. What I'd like to do is keep things in the background and still create a MMRest: like cues/chords/text blocks.
ah, I havent tried placing those items in another layer Does anyone know if that 'll work? or another way?
EDIT: OK so moving/hiding layers doesn't help.
Maybe I could setup a staff style?

I'm not sure I understand what you want to achieve. If the measures are not empty, they won't be included in a multimeasure rest (unless you create a Shape to simulate it).
So, if there are cue notes (usually created with a plug-in in Layer 4), there will never be a multimeasure rest on top of them.
Maybe an image (drawing) of what you want would help to understand.

Thanks for all the suggestions and help guys. So basically a Text block is the ticket.
