Probably a simple one: I title a particular piece, and the title shows up on all pages of the score. Then I change the title, but the old title remains on all the other pages. I tried closing out and coming back, no go. How do I adjust this as a default? (in other words, when I change a title, it'll be reflected on all pages?) Thanks!

Did you just create the title directly on the page? or did you create it in the right spot in Window/Score Manager/File Info box?

When you included the title on the subsequent pages, did you use a text insert for title? or just enter the information directly in a text box?

OUCH......I have never created titles in the "right place," but now I know. Once I did, it's as it's supposed to be. Thanks Michael!

Yes, so I see you have some snazzy strings.....tell me about the Strad, etc.....I'm not thrilled with some things about the Garritan built-in violin....overall, good sound, but it has its quirks. I'd love to know options. And yeah, I LOVE NP3....can't believe the improvement. Just the flute alone....it is way better than some samples I've heard.

sadly, to keep using the Strad violin and the Gofriller cello I have to resort to LOTS of headbanging (and I don't mean heavy metal rock) with Finale 2012, which was the very last version of Finale that supported those libraries.

with lots of tweaking (invisible articulations, hidden slurs, various text expressions set not to print) I was able to use most of those two libraries' features.

I haven't tested if Dorico will let me use them, yet.

Yeah, I'm not going to bother with all that. It's not worth it. I think the best use of my time would be in learning a DAW really well and using top of the line sampling libraries. That would be a good investment in my time. Not messing around with finale stuff that's just going to be frustrating. Thank you for letting me know. I thank you very much for talking up np3, what an improvement that was. I just got Perfect Layout and installed it and I'm going to start working with that too, and that should be a big help. I'm spending unbelievable amounts of time making fine tuning adjustments to hairpins and dynamics and whatever, what a pain in the rear. Hopefully this will help with that.

hairpins and dynamics is one of those places that Dorico has a definite leg up on Finale.
it's ridiculously easy to get dynamics properly placed, and best of all, consistent.

Well, I'm hopeful that since people have raved about perfect layout, that'll make a big difference. What do you use dorico for in general? Special things, or is it your go-to notation software now?

I only just bought Dorico a few weeks ago, for a trial run. I got it for a reduculously low price so took advantage of it.

I've only entered one piece so far, my violin concerto.

I don't know that I'm ready to switch 100% to Dorico yet.
There are a few things that it can't do that are part of the house style, and I'm not ready to do without those things.

I'm also not that efficient at entering notes rapidly, so composing using it would probably slow me down too much.
