In the attached example I want to change all A#s to Bbs globally. So I highlight all measures, I go to Finale/Enharmonic spelling/favor flats - but nothing happens. What am I doing wrong?

Favor flats only affects future entries. But try following it with Retranscribe, which is kind of like entering everything again.

Personally, I try not to use Retranscribe because it turns all my dotted notes into tied pairs.

Unless I'm missing something, which is entirely possible...

JW Change Pitch : http://www.finaletips.nu/index.php/down ... c-plug-ins

Retranscribe is under the Midi/Audio menu.

I didn't realize retranscribe screwed up dotted rhythms.

There's also Search and Replace in the Note Mover tool:

http://usermanuals.finalemusic.com/Fina ... eplace.htm

Typically, though, there are wrong or misleading instructions there. Where is says "Select the notes to be changed. Select one note by clicking, additional notes by..." it should instead tell you to select the first note (only) to be changed. The rest of the notes are handled by the search and replace function--that's what it's for!

For me, Retranscribe does not turn dotted notes into tied pairs.

You need the full version, not the one that comes with Finale

Retranscribe uses the quantization settings as well as the enharmonic preference, which might be what's foiling Mike. With "shortest note" set to a sixteenth, I get this bizarre result:

.
Converting to ties rings a bell, though, so I'd be interested in hearing under what circumstances Mike has seen that happen.
