How do I get rid of the tie that is connected to the previous measure in picture "Tie 2"? As you can see there are two ties there. A short one representing the tie to the measure before repeat no. 1 and a longer one connected to the measure just before the second ending. The longer one should not be there. (The 16th note just before the measure before repeat no. 2 shall not be tied to any note.)

There are at least two ways to do this.

A:

1) Remove both ties.

2) In the first ending, move the final 16th one scale step down (from ‘e’ to ‘d’).

3) In the second ending, give the initial 16th a backward tie.

4) In the first ending, move the final 16th one scale step up (from ‘d’ to ‘e’).

B:

1) Remove both ties.

2) Speedy Entry Tool. Click on the page, to exit the entry rectangle.

3) Hold down CTRL (Mac Finale: Hold down Option), and click on the first measure in the second ending.
The (very technical) dialog box Edit Frame appears.

4) Select the option Tie End (at the bottom of the dialog box).
