coming from 2014.5 ...
1) it seems that when I play back with space bar+click it starts, but the cursor doesn't move (wasn't so in 2014.5). Only after I open up the Playback Controls (scrolling playback IS selected) - then it works finen with space bar+click, but is that normal?
2) hiding notes and rest hides them by greying them out (still visible, though) - I was used to NOT seeing them at all - is that still somehow possible?

You can control whether hidden things are gray or invisible in the View menu, Show->Hidden Notes and Rests. At least you could in 2014.5. It seems to be a program setting, that is, non-document specific.
I would ask MM about the cursor.
I would ask MM about the cursor.
From the knowledge base - (obvioulsy this has NOT been fixed ... submitted request):I would ask MM about the cursor.
Note that this issue only affects Finale v26.3.1 on Windows when using VST for playback. This is not present on Finale for Mac or in previous versions of Finale.
When initiating playback by using the SPACEBAR+mouse click method, the playback cursor will not move immediately when playback starts. The cursor will appear to lag behind the audio or appear to not move at all.
To remedy the issue, initiate playback once by using play on the Playback Controls panel. After this, using the SPACEBAR+click method will have the audio and the playback cursor aligned properly. When switching to another document and back, start playback again from the Playback Controls to fix the issue again.
