Multi-measure rest disappearing when I merge measures into one larger stave

A call to someone smarter than me:
I've never had this happen before, but when I combine measures into one stave, the little line that denotes the multi-measure rest disappears. These files are older (I think from a different version of Finale), so I'm thinking there may be glitch somewhere. Does anyone know a way around this?
Attaching a picture as a reference. You can see the issue on mm. 114-116 and mm. 118-119, as opposed to mm. 127-131.
For reference: I run Finale v. 26 on a Macbook Pro)
