I'd appreciate if someone would open the document below in Finale 26 or 27 and take a screen shot of the staff as I have done. I'd like to see if they have in fact made an improvement in key cancellations.
(I know about the option to turn off key cancellations but I would like to see what it's like with them on.)

Here is v27. v26 is identical. What improvement are you looking for?

Did you forget to attach your screen shot?
Someone on Facebook said it no longer used naturals when going from flats to sharps. I'm also curious if the bug you can see in the picture in going from E major to C# minor has been fixed.

The forum will not accept my screen shot. Both v26 and v27 look the same as yours.

You didn't ask, but let me offer a suggestion. Years ago, I read a suggestion on the old Make Music forum. It was to never use minor mode key signatures. Instead, use major mode showing the correct signature for minor keys (ex. Bb major 2 flats for G minor 2 flats). I always do this and it works just fine.
Maybe this approach will fix any key display issues you're having(?)

motet,
It is not clear (at least to me) what you mean.
Could you explain (or attach a graphic that shows) what the layout should have looked like?

I don't know why Finale asks whether you want major or minor. It is up to you, the composer, to select the key and put notes where you want them. Is it because of certain key cancellations? It was to never use minor mode key signatures. Instead, use major mode showing the correct signature for minor keys

I never use "minor" for key signatures myself (perhaps it was even me who told N to avoid it on the old forums), and don't really know what the difference is. Perhaps the enharmonic spelling tables are different in minor mode?
But this came up on Facebook. The work-around is not to use minor, but I was curious if they've fixed what seems to be a bug. If you're using key cancellations, does it still do this when changing from major to minor with the same number of flats or sharps?

Yes, enharmonic spelling tables are different for major and minor.
But also, don't forget the 'copy and paste' transposition, in which Finale will change the pitch of notes by a sixth when you copy from minor to relative major or back.

motet,
I repeat my question:

A? - or B?

A or B is OK.
Again, not looking for a work-around, just wondering if the bug shown below is fixed. It makes no sense to cancel four sharps then then show them again. Is there a way to keep the good but get rid of the bad?

This is what Finale 27.1 automatically does (to major)-
however, going to minor it (still) looks like that -
not fixed, I'd say ...Finale 3.7 > 27.4.1, GPO5, ASUS laptop, 18.4'' display, Intel Core i7, 32GB RAM, WIN 10 Pro, Cubase

Thanks. Indeed, bug not fixed.
Apparently selecting major vs minor does result in different spelling tables. I find the description of said tables in the user manual completely baffling, though.
