Guys, I'm a sporadic finale user.

I have MakeMusic Finale v26.3.1.520 that I usually use sporadically to make editions and music arrangements without any major problems in Windows 8.1 Pro x64. Hell on earth started when I migrated to Windows 10 Pro: As I work with editing and arrangemen, I use Finale plugins a lot and currently I can't correctly use the plugins located in these respective folders:

"Expressions" does not display AutoDynamicPlacement plugins
"Measures" does not display any of the 4 plugins (CreateCodaSystem, NumberRepeatedMeasures, etc)
"Scoring and Arranging" displays only two of the fifteen plugins inside the folder (ScoreSystemDividers and SpaceSystems).

Just to be clear, the plugins represented by those fxt files are there, but not displayed when I'm in the software environment!

The problem is that I used "Canonic Utilities" plugin a lot and now I can't access this feature! Could someone tell me what to do? I've reinstalled Finale several times without success. Everything works fine (including other plugins) except for those aforementioned issues.

Any suggestions that might solve my problem?

Thanks a lot for your attention, suggestions, possible solutions, etc.

Did you reinstall Finale on Windows 10 or let the Windows conversion do its thing? If the latter, try a fresh install.

In Finale's preferences, Folders tab, make sure Plug-ins points to where you think it does.

Dear motet, thanks for replying. Since yesterday there have been 8 attempts to reinstall always as administrator...
What did you mean by "let the Windows conversion do its thing?"
As for the location of plugins, it is standard: C:\Program Files\MakeMusic\Finale\26\Plug-ins

By "let Windows conversion do it's thing" I meant letting Windows update take you from 8 to 10. While that works for most things, it wouldn't surprise me if Finale was an exception, but it sounds like that's not it, alas.

What you say "8 attempts" at installation, does that mean that it's failing?

You probably need to do a clean install. Even when you do an uninstall Windows will leave trash behind. On a Win 10 machine and a good install all the plug-ins will work. I am guessing your installs are not clean. The problem comes when you uninstall, Windows might not completely remove everything. That’s why software leftovers can corrupt a new install.

There are apps that will completely remove all left overs.

From yesterday to today I installed and uninstalled it 8 times. I didn't have any errors, just this problem with some plugins!

Got it!
What I did was simply run CCleaner Pro which cleaned tons of temp files and lots of leftovers in the Windows registry (it was a god damn mess)! Then, I performed a fresh install (the ninth attempt!), rebooted and voilá!!! Everything is working perfect now! Phew!!!

But I must say, I come from Win 8.1 PRO, a much more stable system, with few updates, where such a crazy thing never happened. I find Win10 PRO a very nervous OS, lots of updates, antivirus with heavy processing... So, I'm not really liking this crap...

Do you guys always leave win updates turned on in Win 10 PRO? On Win 8.1 PRO I didn't even care about it, but I know people who have problems with all these crazy updates. I miss my Win 8.1 PRO, but I think it was time to migrate...

Just in time: Thank you all for your attention, suggestions and have a great Christmas everyone!

Personally, I have found Windows 10 to be far superior. It’s much more stable and a vast improvement over Windows 8. I think this is the general consensus as well.

The best version was XP, but that ship has sailed…
