I don't like 'aahs' for the voice sound. It doesn't sound at all natural and most choral vocalists rehearse with a piano. Every time I create a choral piece I have to change the sound in the instrument list from 'aahs' to piano, and this has become a pain in the b***.

Is there a way to premanently change this so that a default voice always sounds like a piano?

Assuming you are starting from a template, make your changes in the Score Manager, and re-save it as a template.

Thanks Miker. As usual you are helpful. I wasn't using a template but maybe that's what I'll do from now on.

In that case, set it up with blank staves from the Wizard. That defaults to piano. Then, you go to Score Manager and set staff names, clefs, etc. Again, set it up the way you want it, and save it as a template. Do it once, and it will be there whenever you want it.

If you use the set-up wizard and specify voices, all the staff labels, groups, and clefs should be set up, and you need only change the sounds in the Score Manger. But either way.
