Tied Notes Rearticulating

I have what may be an unusual situation that I cannot figure out. I'm scoring a harp part for a piece in 6/8. The first bar of a phrase is and eighth rest followed by five eighth notes split over two staves for left and right hand notation, and I want each played note to tie to a five note dotted half chord in the following bar. I tried using speedy entry to add ties to each of the eighth notes, but the chord in the following bar rearticulates. Pedal notation didn't work either. My guess is the program is having a problem tying notes that do not have the value through the rest of one bar to the next one. Is it possible this program is not capable of this type of notation?

Are you sure there isn’t a hidden accidental that might cause the issue?

If I misunderstand, could you post a Finale file, or at least, a screenshot?

I am not sure I understand.

Do you mean something like this?

That's was my take. i don't know how to make the playback tie fort that. Is there a way?

The latest version of the Robert Patterson plug-in (v 6.05) may have a solution (automatic L.V., laisser vibrer), not tested.

Here is the Finale document.
Playback is correct (I think).

I have used the Speedy Entry Tool feature {Voice 1 / Voice 2}.
Voice 1 and Voice 2 of the same layer can be tied together.

In Voice 1:
the bigger note value, e. g. the right hand’s dotted quarter ‘d’ (but where is the dot? - Tuplet Tool!), and its stem is flipped upwards = hidden in the 8th note stem.
Then, Voice 2 is launched from the bigger note value, and the 8ths are entered.

I used Layer 2 for the right hand’s F♯.
Again, the stem is “hidden” because it is flipped upwards.

You can figure it out.

Ah, "voices." Very clever--thanks.

Yes Peter, that's exactly what I meant! Thank you! I couldn't figure out your steps to do it from scratch, but I was able to manipulate the example you attached to the notes I needed and moved the stems and dots accordingly. I never would have figured this out on my own. Good stuff!
