In the attached file, I want the last 8th (RH) of each measure to be played as if they are
grace notes leading to a downbeat on the next measure. The four notes F-G#-A-D are
approximating a trombone slide effect. However the next measure does not have that downbeat in the RH.
I give you two measures showing my intention, sort of. Not happy with either. Is there
a way to convert the 32nd notes of meas. 2 into four grace notes?
That would best convey my intention. Thanks.

Simple and Speedy entry both have commands to turn a note into a grace note. You'll need to change the last eighth rest to a quarter rest.

We might better understand if you explain why you are not “happy with either”.

Anyway, here is the Finale document, with the notes converted to grace notes.

To answer you, it's a visual thing. The chord at end of meas.1 looks mostly like a chord, which I don't want. It should imitate a t-bone slide. The ending of meas.2 looks too written out, not "sloppy" enough. That's why I prefer to make them grace notes. With all respect, I don't get your notated solution at all.

I'll try it.

I tried it, it looks great. The only thing is - and it's not a big problem - it seems that Finale wants me to input those grace notes last note first. Otherwise difficult to input. Oh well...
