I have a piece that I switched from Db to D, using the key signature tool. So now the piece in D is mostly fine, but there are many A#'s and E#'s that I want to change to their enharmonic equivalents (C natural, F natural.) I've tried following the manual procedure but it doesn't seem to work, so obviously I'm missing something. Specifically: I use Advanced Tools Palette--click on the measure-- go to Note Mover--select Search and Replace--select the note I wish to change, then select "Enharmonic," then "Ok." No change. What am I missing?

I'll be honest (and embarrassed): I never knew that functionality existed within the Note Mover tool. Interesting to see (just as I recently found out that the one method among many to change fonts was via Text Search and Replace). But to your point, I'm not sure why it isn't working. What usually works for me is to either change the enharmonic spelling preferences then using the Select tool for specific measures invoke Respell Notes. The other way as I think of it would be to use JW Change.
Let me know how it goes. Now I have something else I've learned this week through the forums, and I've used Finale for decades

It's arcane. After doing what you're doing, bj nick, a "Search" will appear on the menu bar. Pull that down and you have some choices; you probably just want "Replace all."

There's also JW Change Pitches, which is also confusing. You can either just change them one pitch at a time, clicking Change at the top right, or build a list and then pick Change Checked. The former is probably easier for you than building the list since you're just making two changes.

Okey-dokey, I'll try these and report back......though I'm tempted to just individually change the few affected notes.....not something I need all the time and it's a short piece.

Great, I will look these over today. I only say report back because I don't want people to think their advice fell into a black hole and wasn't followed up on. In any case, thanks for the help!
