I've been over this before, thought I had it nailed. Now measure #'s are not displaying again.....checked over things, measure attributes, etc., not seeing why this is happening. Also in messing around with the "edit number regions" I screwed up a setting and got this gigantic box which shows up on the .pdf........can't figure out what I did.....Sorry to revisit this....

Actually, the measure numbers do show.
However, you have (surprisingly) set the font size to only 1 Point, thus making the numbers very tiny.
Do you really mean 1 Point ???
I suspect a typo.
Also the measure number position is surprising.
Do you really mean that position ???
(Horizontal: 30e
Vertical: 13e)

Yep....as I said, we've been over this.....but it's something I'm still not grasping. Partly it's that sometimes I don't know what question to ask.....maybe not referring to things by their actual names.

I just want a totally standard position......I was looking for a "restore default" setting for this but couldn't find it....and regarding font size, as you can see from the attachment, I set font to 10....so I suspect maybe I have the wrong font setting dialogue box, perhaps?Peter Thomsen wrote: ↑Thu Jan 27, 2022 8:52 pmActually, the measure numbers do show.

Okay, got it now. My confusion was that I kept checking font settings in "measure" --"edit measure number regions" and they indicated 10 pt......but in the "Document" - edit measure number regions dialogue box, I saw the 1 pt. setting that was doing the damage.
Peter: the positions you mentioned that seemed out of whack.....what should they be?
Now.....that enormous enclosure/box.....where is that setting? I've tried to check every box or enclosure, can't find the right one.
Thanks

I believe you.....just what it seemed to me......I looked up the previous discussion on this and tried to check the same areas, but couldn't find the faulty setting. Hopefully the issue won't turn up again.

Obviously it is a matter of taste.
A common measure number position is above the beginning of each system.
Try e. g.
Horizontal: 84e
Vertical: 60e

You may want to try the "Easy Measure Numbers plug-in".

… or on Jari Williamson’s own web site:

By The Way:
The plug-in name is “JW Measure Numbers” (not “Easy Measure Numbers”).

Easy Mesure Numbers is/was Finale's plug-in but I did not see it in 27's menu. Somewhat surprised? Perhaps I deleted it?By The Way:

I never use either myself.

ebiggs1,
Your hyperlink goes to the manual for Finale 2009.
The plug-in Easy Measure Numbers was removed in Finale 2010.
Quoting the manual for Finale 2010 (Interface Changes):
Easy Measure Numbers. Removed in favor of Finale's integrated measure number functionality.

Yes indeed. I did say
And, I said I never use either. The link is for a d/l source for the JW version. The mention was simply to help the OP with measure numbers not to start a tit-for-tat.

Unless you're creating multiple regions, moving the location of some numbers and not others, etc., etc., the plug-in is overkill and probably won't save you any work. You might be better off just accepting the defaults and not changing anything unless you know what you're doing.
