Hello,

I have a document that is made up of 3 movements continuously for a marching show production.

We made an adjustment to a section of the document and need to keep the measure numbers the same for the remainder of the movement and the rest of the piece. This is because there are already things laid out in excel/other production documents tied to the remainder of the measure numbers. Additional ensemble members have their parts all marked up and don't want to have to make them print and re-mark all their music again (384 measures total).

I have a section that goes 1-79 and then the added 10 measures in between need to be 79a, 79b, 79c, 79d, etc. I already added and adjusted regions so I have another measure region that reads as "80-384". I'm asking if this is even possible to have the number stay the same but include increasing alphabet numbers after it. My solution if I cannot would be to make a text expression but then that would also need to be applied to the Brass, Battery, and front scores.

Attached is what I get if I go to measure number regions > region 2 > style > other: with number base set to 26, starting character 79.

Thanks! Any advice is appreciated!

This is possible. I'd suggest you download the free plugin JW Measure Numbers to make the process easy.

You need to create 10 separate measure number regions for your 10 measure 79s. Then go over each of the 10 79s adding suffixes a, b, c, etc.

- Or create one Measure Number Region of 10 measures, using the Prefix 79, and in the numbering Style {a, b, c, d, …}.

I just tried it, and it works for me.

Awesome thank you! I have JW measure number installed just didn't realize it as I've only delved into a few of the JW plugins so far.
