A whole part gets squeezed into one bar!

Hi!

When I work with the instrumental parts to an orchestra piece it sometimes happens that the whole part gets squeezed into one single bar. In this case, a bar on page 4 contains everything that follows, leaving the preceding bars untouched and correct. So, page 1-3 is ok, but from page 4 everything is just wrong. Why is that? And what can I do to stop Finale from this destructive behaviour?

Happy for any kind of suggestion for a solution!

PS. I am trying to attach a screen shot, but however small I make it this form says it is too large. Any hints on that also would be great!

Have you tried Update Layout?

Yes - note spacing and update layout. The notes have somehow moved from 800 bars into one single bar on page 4. Note spacing and update layout makes the layout almost readable if you have a paper about 6,5 meters wide. Problem remains though.

Try removing page breaks.

Thanks! But there are no page breaks. The part is completely "untouched". I generated all the parts from a copy of the score and started working from the top off the list. When I opened clarinet 2 to start working on it this problem was already there.

Btw, how do I attach an image? The Attachments -> Add files below doesn't work for me. It says that the file is too large while it is only 307 k.

What did you do? Others might be interested if the problem comes up for them. My guess is "unlock systems".

I realised it was a self made error

It was not unlock systems. I copied part of clarinet 1.2. and pasted it into clarinet 2. but made the misstake to highlight only the first bar in clarinet 2. with the result that all the 800 bars I copied were pasted into the one and only bar that was highlighted. My bad. With my cheeks coloured in the reddish shade of embarrassment red I thank everyone for hints and help.
