Sorry, it’s me again. I suspect that I may have a few questions as I try out Finale 27. Here’s the first. I’ve entered a few notes in Finale 27 and wanted to go to Finale 2011 to check something. This message came up:
“C:Program Files\MakeMusic\Finale\27\Finale.exe” is currently registered to handle Finale Notation Files. Do you want to register “C:\Program Files (x86)\Finale 2011\finale.exe” to handle Finale Notation Files instead?

What do I do? Finale 27 and Finale 2011 are in separate folders and I want to be able to run Finale 2011 without it upsetting Finale 27 and vice versa.

Please advise what to do with the above message. Many thanks in advance.

Andreo

Just say "No" - you can still open and use 2011. It just means that if you open a Finale file from outside Finale it will automatically open in Finale 27.

I think, if I remember correctly, you can tell it to not ask you that anymore.

You can actually set it up to have Finale 2011 open .mus files and Finale 27 open .musx files.

Thanks, Motet - that will be really good to be able to open files like that.

What I'm wondering now is how to make my Finale 27 files save in the Finale 27 folder that I've created. I've just tried to save a file in Finale 27 and it wanted to go to my Finale 2011 folder. I'd much rather keep the two lots separate.

Thanks mmike! I did discover this 'slot' late last night and all is well now. It was the top-most location (Music) that was blank and needed filling in.
