The plug-in is called "score systems dividers" - and I have used it in scores for years. I have never used it in parts and it doesn't seem to work there. Does this plug-in not apply there? I have a group of staves which I want to all see in a part, no problem. But I can not add system dividers. In a part are they not "systems"? Would I have to insert dividers individually as expressions or text blocks? Seems unlikely, I must be missing something here ...

The plug-in {Score System Divider} works for me, both in the score and in the linked parts (I am using Finale v26).

With 2014.5, when I try to add them to a part, it adds them to the score instead. It is called "Score System Divider," but perhaps they've improved it in later versions.

The symbol is in Engraver Font Set 14 pt., if that helps. It looks like they're page-attached text blocks, which seems like a poor choice...

As a workaround you could insert the dividers as measure numbers.

Actually, it does seem to work, but in a somewhat strange way (at least for parts). Regardless where you use the plug-in, from score or part view, it does put in the dividers, but in the part they are apparently automatically hidden (probably because they aren't quite in the right place for parts) and need to be shown (and adjusted).

The plug-in adds System Dividers to the score as text, and then hides those text marks from appearing in the parts.

In an instrumental part, is there any doubt whether the next staff down is 'a new system' or not?

Of course not. But in the situation originally described (a group of staves) it is as useful as in a score.

Ah: sorry, I didn't quite understand.

But essentially, to have different dividers in different parts/scores, you'd need to have separate text items hidden or showing in each layout, which would be a recipe for trouble.

It wasn't so long ago that plug-ins didn't even work in parts.

The Help pages (and the name itself) do suggest that it only works in the Score.
