I had one classical guitar in my score which I previously had named Guitar 1, so far so good.

I added one more classical guitar. That one was named Classical guitar. When I changed that name to Guitar 2 the displayed name in the score changed to Guitar 2 1.

I added one more classical guitar and renamed it to Guitar 3. The displayed name in the score changed to Guitar 3 2.

As a last try to rename I simply deleted the name Guitar 3 in the Full name... dialog. Now it shows up as "2" in the score.

And what's it for, that last number that is added? Can't figure it out by right-clicking. It can obviously be deleted since there's a square right next to it. But I'd still like to know about this behavior so I can change the names to my liking.

If you go to the score manager can you edit the names? What happens if you un-check Auto-Number?

Thanks guys! Turning off Auto-Number Style is the solution. 👍
