Missing basic chords

If you are talking about the missing fretboard chords, both Cmaj7 and Gmaj7 show up correctly for me using 26 and 27.
Have you tried opening another template or something from the Wizard to see if your problem is specific to one document?
Your 7(-9) also works though it needs 7(b9).

How do I know what template I used, does this screen mean I used a keyboard template (wrongly)? ATTACHMENT Instrument-Keyboard-Piano (No staff name) I try other "spellings," this leads me to think there are CHORD SUFFIX LIBRARIES that I can load in this document maybe?
