Spell Checker?

Does Finale have a spell checker? I have a very vague recollection of such a thing but can't find anything about it in the manual. I am working on a pile of hymns and every time I type "thee" it beeps and gets changed to "the".

If Finale has a spell checker, how do you turn it off? If it doesn't have a spell checker then the corrections must be coming from somewhere else.

Finale doesn't have one. Windows, my OS, does have "Check spelling as you type". I suspect Mac has something similar.

On Mac, look at System Prefs/Keyboard/Text.

Where were you getting this -- in the Lyric Window? Or a Text block?

As far as I know, macOS only underlines words in red if they're mis-spelled. And 'thee' is a known word.

That (above) is what I see in Safari, TextEdit, Pages, etc. But I don't get any spell-checking in Finale.

I got it everywhere I tried -- Text Block, Lyrics Window, and Lyrics type into score. And in this message. the the the

I unchecked Correct Spelling Automatically in System Preferences and was still getting the correction until I rebooted. To all who replied, I thank thee.
