Anyone know if ScanScore is worth a try? I have literally ONE piece I need to scan from PDFs and import into Finale, and I'll not likely use it again. Smart Score is really expensive, too expensive for a one-time thing. ScanScore claims to be able to do complex scores from PDFs, and it now works with Macs.
I just wondered if anyone has experience with it.

They do have a demo. Try it out.
I’m not crazy about their one year limit, either. But if you just have that single score, it may be worth a try.

Mark,
I have no experience with ScanScore but I have lots with SmartScore Pro 64. The more complex your score, full orchestra for instance, the more errors you will get. Big score I guarantee there will be errors! The condition of your original is critical. If it is compromised even a little the more errors you will get.
With SmartScore 64 and great originals on a piano or small ensemble pieces I have gotten 100% accurate results. On larger scores like full orchestras, there is always errors.
If your score is large with many pages I would break them up into smaller groups even down to a page at a time. It is always a toss up as to whether the errors are easier to edit or is inputting by hand better.

Sounds a bit like importing via MusicXML into Finale. Sibelius to Finale works pretty well, but Encore to Finale is pretty terrible, deleting most articulations and many slurs. Maybe copying from scratch would have been easier!ebiggs1 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 11, 2022 3:31 pmMark,
