Running Finale 27.2.something on a Mac with macOS Monerey (12.6).

I'm an occasional Finale user who has to relearn much of it every time I use it for a new project.

How does one hide time signatures? I've looked several places and can't find it, even though I'm sure it's right in front of my nose somewhere.

I've done this before, in fact, I did an entire 28-page score with time signatures hidden in some places, not in others. That was about three years ago and now I can't remember how I did it.

I'm sure one brief, correct answer will reduce the size of this thread greatly. Thanks in advance. I've always gotten superb support from the kind contributors to this forum.

Measure Tool. Select and double click the measure with the time signature. Then under "time signature" in the dialogue box that comes up select "always hide".

There are a couple of ways. Could you give us more details?

John's solution hides them measure by measure. You can hide them all the way through using Staff Tool > Staff Attributes and uncheck Time Signatures.

Voila! Problem solved. I'll try to remember.
Thank you very much John Ruggero.

I'm just trying to make blank score-like paper so I can transcribe some things in pencil that I can then notate in Finale.
It changes time sigs, so I don't want anything preprinted.

No more replies necessary.

You (or others) may find this helpful in the future:

It’s always struck me as odd that Finale doesn’t include one or two blank sheets in the templates…

Thank you miker, yes, that is nice to find. Real good for a quick fix.
I agree that it's strange there are no blank staff templates in Finale.
Maybe they thought the companies that make music paper would get annoyed with them.

Of course, there is nothing like real music paper. I still have a pretty good stock of fairly heavy stuff that I've had since the late 1970s. And it's not 8.5x11. Needless to say, I use it sparingly.

Someday I'll replenish my supply, but I like to see and feel the product before buying.
