When I select and drag chords to another staff to create cross beaming, some notes disappear and I can't seem to get them back via refreshing. In the attached, in m. 153 beat 1, I dragged the second triplet to the lower staff and am missing two notes. See beat 2 where I have not yet dragged to identify the missing notes. What am I doing wrong? BTW, the disappearing notes tend to be seconds, not thirds.
Also, I notice that I cannot change any pitch that has been cross-staffed. I have to de-cross, correct and re-cross. Is there a work-around for this? BTW I'm a Mac user.
DARN! I took a screen shot of the problem and this post won't accept this "too big" file of 315 kb!

But while you are waiting.
How are you attempting to change the pitch of the cross staffed note? If you use the Speedy Entry edit frame you can change it without moving it back to it's original position, although it will show in the original position in the Speedy Entry edit frame. If you use the repitch tool it will return the note to its original position and you will have to move it back with the note mover tool.

Before dragging with the NoteMover, use the mouse to draw a rectangle around the noteheads of the notes you want to move so that all their handles are red, like this:
Also, consider using the cross-staff plug-in: You can also invoke the plug-in by selecting what you want to move in the Selection tool and pressing a hot key. On Windows it's Alt+DownArrow or Alt+UpArrow. On the Mac, try Command+DownArrow, or maybe Shift+Command+Down+Arrow. Maybe someone with a Mac reading here will know.
Then you should be able to drag all at once. Also, consider using the cross-staff plug-in: You can also invoke the plug-in by selecting what you want to move in the Selection tool and pressing a hot key. On Mac, it's Alt Up/Down, too. (Though this blog says Shift is needed on Windows.)
Technical, it doesn't 'invoke the plug-in', but just moves the selected notes.

The hotkey in Mac Finale is Option-UpArrow / Option-DownArrow.motet wrote: ↑Tue Nov 22, 2022 4:55 pm… You can also invoke the plug-in by selecting what you want to move in the Selection tool and pressing a hot key. Perhaps you mean the looped square:
⌘
Also known as Saint Hannes cross.
On a Mac keyboard the symbol means the Command key.
