Good afternoon,
I recently upgraded to Finale 26 and am getting an error message, "Missing VST Instrument Plug-in: Kontakt." I can locate the Shreddage guitars, bass, and drums through the Native Instruments link but cannot get them into my Finale composition. "Help" instructs to place ".dll" files into C-drive, etc. but I am only seeing ".nki" files when looking at the specific instruments.

Thanks,

Doug

If you open Native Access, and go to Preferences, you will see where the VST 64 dll was installed.

In Finale, go to the Audi/MIDI menu, Device Setup, and choose Manage VST Plug-in Directories

There you want to Add the directory path you found in Native Access

Then again go to Audi/MIDI menu, Device Setup and choose Rescan for VST Plug-ins

You should now be all set. the .nki files are the actually sound libraries that Kontakt opens
Finale 25, Overture, Sibelius, Notion, Cubase, StaffPad
Win10 x64, 32GB RAM, Focusrite Scarlett 18i20
Kontakt, VSL VI Pro, VE Pro, EWQL Orch, Choirs and Pianos
August Foster 190

Followed that logic. Found the pathway. Entered them into the directory and clicked rescan but nothing happened.

I also just installed Kontakt 7 player as prompted in Native Access. Was using Kontakt 6 player. Wondering if it's not jibing somehow.

Bill,

Got it. A little perseverance.

Thank you,

Doug
