Using Finale 2009 for Mac. While working on a document, Finale abruptly started changing all new pages added to the end of the document to an entirely different size than the one I set the document up for and I can't figure out a way to change them back to the proper size. See screen shot:

(I would have just attached the screen shot, but apparently any graphic large enough to show the problem is too large a file to post to this forum.)

Interesting. So now I know where the source of the problem is and how to stop it, so thanks for that, but it doesn't explain why it started happening in the first place. I didn't change any of the settings in the Page Format box, so I have no idea why Finale just started adding different-sized pages at the end of the document like that.
It's a mystery, but as long as I know how to deal with it and set things right, I suppose it's not a big deal.
Thanks for the video/info.

My guess is that you created the Finale document from a template that was set up incorrectly, with 1) default settings in the Page Format window, and then 2) with individual customization of the template’s already existing first page(s).BTR1701 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 29, 2022 8:36 pmInteresting. Obviously you normally need all the template’s pages to be formatted with the default settings.
Hence the correct way to save a template is:
1) Change the default settings in the Page Format window to the settings you need (= Page Size, Page Margins, Page Scaling, &c.)
2) Redefine the template’s already existing pages so that they have the default settings.
3) Save the template.
If you create your template in this way, then all new documents (created from that template) will behave.
You can still customize individually.
Example:
If one score page is particularly “dense”, you can safely downscale that page.
No one will notice if you downscale the dense page by a few per cent only.
