As John Ruggero pointed out, the old forums at forum.makemusic.com seems to be gone. Active discussions had stopped there, but it was a valuable resource with over a decade of invaluable information from power users available with Google searches. Hopefully it's just an oversight, for I see no harm in leaving it up.

I don't participate in the latest MakeMusic-sponsored discussion site, but maybe someone can inquire there.

It can be browsed somewhat via 'the Wayback Machine' (Internet Archive). Though because the forum's pages were auto-generated by the server from a database, and the crawler only takes snapshots on certain dates, it may be a bit patchy.

Presumably MM were still paying for and maintaining the server? The forum software was pretty outdated even when it was functional. (True to form, I suppose... ) For most other apps, hints and tips that are at least 6 years old would be no longer relevant. But I dare say there's still much that's useful.

After reading it was gone, I had no trouble finding it immediately nor digging down. Unfortunately, the only way I know to search it is through Google. It would be nice if MM allowed it to have a Search field.

Nevertheless, it was gone for a period.

Google search is going to be faster and more sophisticated than something MakeMusic will come up with. You can add prefix your search with the site URL to restrict it to that site, e.g.

site:forum.makemusic.com "cue notes"
