recuring issue with small articulation/expression boxes

Have followed all steps from previous discussions and a link to a fix shown below,
https://makemusic.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/ ... inale-etc-

but this issue still persists. It will 'right' itself after taking off old ini files but as soon as I reset my MIDI preferences from MIDI drop down box the same thing happens. I have, I admit, a somewhat complicated MIDI set up that invloves something called Loop MIDI and MIDIOX, but this should not change the way the expression and articulation boxes look. They keep minimising.

This was an issue a few years ago, and Finale said they wree working on it but it seems it is not yet resloved? Anyone else have these issues?

Thanks

Jill

It's hard to know what you're talking about. Do you mean the size of the choices when you make a selection? Have you used the controls shown below?

Motet,

One problem is that even when you use those buttons, the expressions, articulations, and chords themselves don't enlarge. Only the frame gets bigger, showing more white space. I have been complaining about this for years.

But I'm not sure if that's the issue that jmus references.

Here is the problem....While I can pull the sides to make it larger it is one more thing to do when using these.

Window dimensions, tool bars, etc., are saved in the Windows registry, HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\MakeMusic\Finale26. If your process doesn't have permission to change that, that might explain it. See if running as administrator causes it to remember.

Thanks motet, will give it a go

Well, that's pretty dumb! For me and my set-up, the defaults are fine, but they should certainly fix that.

It's particularly bad for expressions that one designs oneself, like turns with accidentals added or glyphs one adds from another font. They appear much smaller than the default set and are very difficult to read no matter how one enlarges the boxes. I'd say the chances of them fixing this are nil, however.

And if they did, they would undoubtedly break something else.

Curiously, the trills with an accidental used to be too tiny to see (see below), and they fixed that at some point, but not the general case.
