I have used finale for years. Today, when I press backspace, it is not turning the note into a rest as I expect, but instead deleting the note. What gives?

I have Finale 26.3.1.643. I have a Mac.

How do I make rests in speedy entry now? I have been looking it up, but haven't found the exact problem yet that I can fix.

In Speedy, type clear or R.

It depends if you're using MIDI input or not.
