Working on a new piece, and Finale is running slower and slower, beachballing on every mouse click. I have a feeling this is being caused by the large number glissandi-to-nowhere -- that is, glissandi attached to a starting note but not to an end note -- because this is the only unusual thing I'm doing in the piece, and the Smart Shape tool won't even let me add a slur any more.

Is there something like a Smart Shape stack that I'm overflowing by not attaching my glissandi? And is there a better way to notate an indefinite-end glissando that will avoid the problem? (Sad thing is, the way I'm notating it now plays back as I want it, and a human player would understand it too.)

Thanks all,
Tom
