Greetings. I originally posted this in the wrong place.I am using Finale 27.3 to engrave an orchestra score with a solo voice. The percentage sign to resize staff is now gone. I want the solo voice staff to be 100% and the instruments to be 85%. How is this done now. Thanks.

Menu Tools > Resize
click on the staff (not outside of it, which will resize the page)
Resize Staff - enter your desired percentage and range. This will resize only one staff at a time.
Therefore, easier if you have an orchestral score, use Page Layout > Resize Staff System first, to have the (orchestral) percentage for everything, then go to Tools Resize staff to change the percentage for your vocal staff.

Resize Staff - enter your desired percentage and range. This will resize only one staff at a time.

Using Finale v27.
“One staff at a time” is not happening. I had no trouble finding the resize tool, selecting just the solo instrument staff that I need to reduce in size, “Resize Staff” pops up asking for _%, and “Staff system range”. When I click OK to reduce the solo instrument staff, the entire system reduces.

How can I change the size of just one staff throughout the piece (solo instrument treble above two staves, treble and bass)?

GailF,

Can you post the score? If the solution above didn’t work, we need to look under the hood.

The contextual menu (Right-click) of the Resize Tool lets you select the object to resize.

Hi have you tried the new RGP Lua script ‘Page Format Wizard’ I’ve just discovered it so not quite up to speed with it yet but you can change overall staffs and individual staffs. And it’s all on one window, the good thing about it is that you can see the adjustments on screen as you make them. Check out the ‘Conquering Finale’ website it gives a very good in-depth lesson on it.
