Hi
I already asked about shortcuts for scrolling through the score.
I am interested in Keybord shortcuts for using the TRANSPORT in playback
As a CUBASE user I am so much used tu use the Space bar for STP and PLAY actions that I systematically use it in FINALE with... no result of course as it is not implemented.
Is there a way to attach Keyboard shortcuts to the Playback transport actions?
Thanks for the help
Daniel

Transport is what Cubase calls its Playback functions.
daniel - in Finale you can program start/stop playback to any shortcut key or combination with Plug-ins >TG Tools > Menu shortcuts
Or, of course, you can start playback from any measure (without Human Playback though) with Spacebar+left click on a measure (stop with only left click again, anywhwre)

Finale has already programmed this function to the spacebar. You have to still click on a measure (while holding the spacebar) to start playback.

If you are talking about starting to play by spacebar+click, yes, you can stop it with the next click anywhere. Actually, even with "normal" playback from the Playback Controls window, the stop button will also stop it anywhere.
And, if you want/need to, you can slowly "scrub" across measures with Shift-Ctrl-Spacebar (one staff), or Ctrl-Spacebar (all staves) - a handy feature if you want to slowly check notes individually or across the whole score vertically.

I don't know what you mean by "MIDI VALUE," but the key assignment show below works for me. You'd need a separate one to stop. But I think you'll be disappointed--it's not going to do a stop/start/stop/start like you can do in YouTube, say.danielschellmus wrote: ↑Mon Feb 13, 2023 7:22 pmHi
