I'm doing a set of finale files that will be inserted into a barbershop arranging manual. One of the chords that they use is Dhalfdim7. Is there such an animal? Is there a more efficient way to state it, like D(slashed circle)7, or is that not OK?
I'm certainly not going to take it up with them; more for my own knowledge.
Is there such a chord?

A beautiful seventh chord that occurs naturally by stacking thirds on the 7th note of any major scale: B-D-F-A, for example. Grieg would have been lost without it.
