For some reason, I cannot get the FINAL left barline to display. I have "Final" selected in the "Left" section of the Measure Attributes Dialog box and it's not changing the left barline in any measure except the ones that begin a system.
I don't want to use a right final barline in the measure before, because it's backwards and looks weird.

Welcome to the forum!
By definition, a Left Barline is a barline at the beginning of a system.
When a barline occurs anywhere else than at the beginning of a system, it is always a Right Barline.
Why do you need a Final Barline - and not a Forward Repeat Bar?
This is a matter of “Finale-speak”:ryanmeaghermusic wrote: ↑Sat Mar 11, 2023 8:17 pm… it's not changing the left barline in any measure except the ones that begin a system …

Mac OS X 12.6.9 (Monterey), Finale user since 1996
It's not clear to me what you are actually trying to achieve, but it seems that you want to have a final barline to the right of the pick-uo measure?
If so, this is what you should do:
If so, this is what you should do:
Finale 3.7 > 27.4.1, GPO5, ASUS laptop, 18.4'' display, Intel Core i7, 32GB RAM, WIN 10 Pro, Cubase

Thanks. I tried that but it doesn't look right. For now, I'm just sticking with a double bar.

I don't want to a forward repeat bar because it's a short lead sheet and it doesn't "need" a repeat. I'm just trying to have it look like the beginning of the actual piece after a pickup measure. I am going to stick with a double bar line for now. Seems like one should be able to do whatever they want with a left barline on Finale...

I've never seen a final barline after a pickup measure. It doesn't make sense. If you're copying an existing source, it might behoove you to do it properly using "common practice".I'm just trying to have it look like the beginning of the actual piece after a pickup measure.
