I am using layers to have 2 parts on some staves of a score that will have separate parts (flute 1 and 2, clarinet 2 and 3, etc.). The 2 layers always have the same dynamic marking. Sometimes the dynamic appears once in the score and also in each part, but sometimes the dynamic in the score does not appear in the lower part. I have to enter the dynamic twice on the score to get it to display on the part from the 2nd layer. I expect I have entered things inconsistently somehow.

Thanks for any help.

Tom

Welcome to the forum!

I would take a look at the Expression Assignment, the pop up menu {Show On:}.

Tom,
Right-click an expression's handle and choose Edit Expression Assignment.

… and if the expression handle is already selected, just hit Shift-Return.

Thank you both. I think I am getting it. Right click // edit expression assignment // all layers. This allows the dynamic from the first layer to show in the part for the 2nd layer without duplication in the score. Much appreciated.
