slurs won't go away

There seems to be two slurs in lower clef at the end of meas.2
that I can't make disappear. How is it done? See attached. Thanks.

They're expressions. Double-click, then press Delete or Mac equivalent.

If you are ever confused again as to what an element is in Finale simply click on the Smart Shape, Articulation, Expressions and Chord tool icons in order and see which one shows the little handle squares. That tells you which group it belongs to.

I do understand that, however in this case everything I clicked on gave me no satisfaction. Anyway I resolved the problem. Thanks.

With the Selection Tool, double click on any item and you will be taken to the tool that is associated with it. You can then delete it or edit it. This should be an automatic reflex when using Finale.
