No text being inserted in text box

I'm trying to insert text into a score, but when I type in the text box, nothing is inserted. Has this happened to anyone else? Any ideas on how to solve this problem? Thanks.

If you're using the Text tool, double-click where you want the text box and you should see a blinking cursor. Type your text.

Check your text font and size.
