Can anybody tell me how to lock the widths of the measures in a stave so that they don't reconfigure themselves after a minor edit in one of them?
I get it a stave all set up and looking beautiful, then do something like add a chord symbol and the bar widths all change back to what the algorithm says...
Would be a great time-saver.
(I don't mean "lock four bars in a stave" - I mean lock the actual desired measure widths.)
Thanks in advance!

I believe if you turn off Automatic Music Spacing and Automatic Update Layout, you will get what you want.

You may have to go to
Document Options - Multimeasure Rests
and de-select the option {Update Automatically}.

What the option {Update Automatically} does:
When music, via Scroll View, is added to an empty measure in a multimeasure rest, then the multimeasure rest is broken.
At the same time the option will reset all measure widths to the default (not just multimeasure rests, but all measures).
