Have you had this problem with earlier version of Finale? I am not seeing it in 25.5 or 27. You might try changing to Maestro font and see what happens. The only similar problem that ever I have encountered is when I have outer placement on and ties go from what line to the next.

Maybe you could compensate for it with a tie settings change?

Shinohara 1027,

1) I could be wrong, but As Far As I Know, ties really are drawn (i. e. ties are not font characters).
Hence a font change should not affect the tie contour.

2) This may be a stupid question, but have you examined the Vertical settings for ties ?
