Hello All,

I am using Version 27.3 on a Win 11 PC. I have a question about adding Sound Maps/sample libraries.

When I go to the MIDI/Audio>Sound Map Priority “Tab” I only see “SmartMusic Softsynth” listed. I reloaded Garritan for Finale and Aria today but they don’t show up in the Sound Map Priority popup.

When I go look at the user manual (https://usermanuals.finalemusic.com/Fin ... ndMaps.htm) I see that both “Garritan Instruments for Finale” and “SmartMusic Softsynth” are in the popup.

Should I be seeing both "Garritan Instruments for Finale" AND "SmartMusic Softsynth" in the Sound Map Priority popup like the user manual shows?

If they should both be there I've obviously missed something and I hope someone can point me to a tutorial or some instructions on setting this up.

Thanks...

Hi,

I can confirm that all my Garritan Libraries AND Smartmusic Softsynth and NotePerformer show on a Mac 27.3 version of Finale.
My guess is that you need to read more on how to install those libraries on a Win machine, reboot and look again. (I have tried copying those libraries from one Mac to another by copying all the files, but that will not work because various Garritan plist files need to edited to point to the correct locations. Using the time consuming installer is more reliable, but if you want to try editing by hand, I found this helpful:

Softsynth probably requires reinstalling Finale - maybe easiest to just run Finale and Garritan installers from scratch?
