Yes, it is possible.

As a matter of fact, the Windows Finale file format and the Mac file format are the same.

They have been the same format for many, many Finale versions.

Examples:
- Finale 2014, same file format in Windows and Mac
- Finale v25, same file format in Windows and Mac
- Finale v26, same file format in Windows and Mac
- Finale v27, same file format in Windows and Mac

However, if you use an older Finale version (e. g. Finale 2014) to open a document created in a newer Finale version (e. g. Finale v27), then the features of the newer version (e. g. support for SMuFL fonts) will not be available in the older version.
But this is a matter of Finale versions - not a matter of Windows versus Mac.

Okay. Thanks. They both have to be updated to the latest version, or at least be the same version. It works now.

Any .musx file can be opened with any version from 2014 to 27. They all share the same file format. PC and Mac.
Minor differences in the position of articulations may have to be fixed.
