I would like create scrolling videos of my Finale scores for use on my Youtube channel etc. I also realize that Finale does not have this export to video feature like other apps do - though I wish that Makemusic would build this into a future release!
I have Finale 27 and the full suite of AVS4YOU editing software so I have the means to do this but I've never done it before. For those of you who have made videos of your Finale scores - is it best to use Page View or Scroll View? How did you handle larger ensemble pieces with more staves and pages? I just want to make the cleanest video I can so it will both look and sound good.

Hi,
If you have a Mac, and your Finale file plays back audio, a fast way is this:
1. Set finale to Page View-single page
2. Press Cmd Shift 5
3. Click Record Selected Portion (far right icon)
4. Click options and set your download area, audio source...(No way to set video resolution)
5. Draw a rectangle around the Finale page (click Select Record Portion again if needed
6. Click record
7. Listen to the score and, in Finale, manually turn pages when needed.

From your AVS4YOU reference, I'd say you are on a PC. You might find this helpful: https://www.pcmag.com/how-to/how-to-rec ... -pc-or-mac
Gamers do this all the time on their PCs so it should work for your project.
AVS4YOU likely will do the task as well and it may have options and features that allow more control over your work. However, video editing software even if they say it's simple can have a real learning curve if you've never used it before But, hey, you figured out Finale!

Good catch! I tried looking at his profile to see if he was a PC user - It was in front of me all along! Thanbks for waking me up - I will pay more attention to the outside world this morning!
I've done this a lot on my Mac using QuickTime. Just do a screen recording while playing back in Finale and capture the audio using a tool like BlackHole (free) or Audio Hijack ($$$). This way there is no need to manually scroll.

I have to manually scroll because I use Digital Performer to make my recordings.
Finale is too crude when it comes to drawing and editing continuous controllers, like 1, 7 and mod wheel, etc.
