I use F 26.3 & have received a Finale 27 file from a student that looks as in the screenshot. Am I right in believing that if he e-mails me the relevant Finale unicode fonts (Maestro and Engraver might be enough) I'll be able view this correctly (at least as far as fonts are concerned)?

In the meantime he should probably e-mail me a PDF.

That apart, it's probably time I bought F27, although I'm not aiming to use it for my own work yet.

You can download and install the demo. Then delete it, and you will have the fonts.

If you're talking about the SMuFL fonts, they only work with Finale 27.

The SMuFL fonts appear to be working, but a little oddly, in F 26.3. I will need the pupil's PDF, unless I actually open the F 27 demo which I have now downloaded, but even in F 26 I can at least get the gist.

You'll find some problems using SMuFL fonts in earlier versions: minim and semibreve rests will be too high; and the time sig numerals will be missing. Possibly flags will need their position adjusted, IIRC.

We were beta-testing FinaleMaestro back in 2015, so not sure why it took six years to implement the needed functionality...
