Hi there, I'm having trouble figuring out a practical way to notate the inner voice of a piano part. The inner voice consists of 8th notes divided between the hands. Where I'm having the trouble is when the inner voice has a "split" harmonic interval where one note of said interval is played by the LH while the other is played by the RH. The closest I've come to achieving this is by using the note mover tool, then using the beam angle tool to move the beam between the staff. This method creates two problems: The first is that one of my stems always disappears. The second is that the note-heads are aligned instead of the stems. What is the best way to solve this?

I attached two images. The first one is an example of what it should look like.

The second is the result of using the note mover and beam angle tools.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! What am I missing here??

Maybe use a 3rd layer?

Start with this

then hide rests and use the note position tool, beam angle tool, beat charts, etc.

Or just use the first one!

Thanks for your response. Is there no way to globally make these adjustments? I have about 54 measures that use this kind of texture so adjusting each stem and beam manually is a lot! Is there a more efficient way?

You could try using the copy filter, but somehow I doubt it. One problem is the the two noteheads must be misaligned to line up the stems. I think if it were me I'd either write it as in my first example or put the chord on the same staff and let the pianist finger it.

Following miker's suggestion to use another layer:

Then follow Motet's suggestion to use the copy filter and apply the final measure in the example as a template to all similar measures. Then adjust the pitches in each measure.
