Hoped this bug was fixed...it isn't

Longstanding bug I've reported in the past but it's still there:
In the Playback/Record Options within the Playback Controls, if you select for Dynamics and Markings either Reset or Use Current Settings, it doesn't do anything.
For example, if I want to test various metronome markings to pick the tempo, years ago it was easy: I hit Reset or Use Current Settings, set qr = whatever in the Playback Controls and it now used that tempo.
This stopped working a few updates ago-probably in F26. Now, I have to create various metronome markings and try them. That is cumbersome and clearly not ideal from a UX perspective.
I just reported it again so let's see. Started composing a new work and this bug is a pain. Used to work but not for awhile and I forgot about it.

Why don't you get a metronome? I know it's not the same, but surely you can "hear" your own composition as you try differing tempos suggested by the click of the metronome. Seems even faster than the method which used to work.

At that point, I think I'd go back to pencil and paper
I deleted the starting metronome marking and then the playback options could set whichever tempo I wanted. But even in the Finale User Manual, it's clear that Reset should do what I need it to do. Currently it doesn't work.
So that issue is fixed for me. Now I need to figure out why all of a sudden my trusty M-Audio Keystation 88 has a ridiculous amount of latency in Finale but has no latency in any other music app, like Reason.
I swear, Finale is possessed.

The latency is probably due to the output audio rather than the keyboard--you press a key, and it's taking too long to formulate and play the sound. Experiment with different outputs if available, and try making the output buffer smaller.
Never had to do that before but the smallest I can make it in Finale is 64 (if I choose 32 there is no sound output at all). And it doesn't matter.
I can play the keyboard and it sounds instantaneously. But if I want to play another staff sound while the piano notes are playing (I'm writing a piece for strings and piano and wanted to have the piano track going while I try out various string notes), there is a second delay before I hear any strings. I don't believe that ever was the case before.

Thanks. We were talking about the same thing.I'm using my MBP speakers since bluetooth earbuds are a bad idea due to latency LOL.
I did try MIDI sounds. Terrible mapping but there was no latency. It's only because I wanted to compose to a piano line playing at the same time. I can do it in Reason just fine but because NP sounds better for strings I stopped and moved on to Finale and notating it as I went. Maybe I should stick with my usual workflow of improvising into Reason and then notating it (which is a slog) in Finale. Thanks.

Agreed. I'm making it work.
New problem: I can no longer select a lot of measures on adjacent pages (even in scroll view). Finale is not scrolling with the drag. It's as if it comes up with new issues to thwart the infrequent occasions where I actually try to compose

Thanks. Restarting has not helped. I even tried selecting a ton of measures offscreen with a new default document; it won't scroll when I drag. Select Region works and shift clicking works, sure. But any ideas why I can no longer drag and select measures? It's really odd.I even nuked my preferences; no difference.
