Hello,
Is there a way to shift the position of a single clef (locally or globally) horizontally? The Spacing Before Clef entry in Document Options - Clef applies to all clefs. Also, I don't want to make any changes to the clef in the Clef Designer to this effect.
This is for f27.1.
Thanks.

The only solution I can think of is to hide the clef with a Staff Style and insert a clef as text with the Expression Tool. If you could elaborate a bit on your reasons for wanting this, maybe there's a better way someone could suggest.

Hi N Grossingink,

Thanks. I have seen this workaround being suggested before. I'm not too keen on it. I simply have a tablature staff and I would have liked to nudge the TAB clef horizontally so it aligns better with the treble clef.

Also (unrelated), in the manual, for the clef designer, it says:
"Musical Baseline Offset. The value in this text box sets the distance between the normal baseline for each clef (as defined in the previous item) and its vertical position when it occurs as a clef change (and hence at a reduced size). It’s measured in the currently selected units, inches by default."
I am not sure that the selected unit in Document Options - Clef has any effect on the unit that is active for baseline offset in the clef designer. And the unit wasn't inches for baseline offset, for sure!

It looks like the "TAB" clef is a shape. Go to the Clef Designer, click on the TAB clef, and click the "Shape" button. Click "Edit" and adjust the Horizontal field at upper right. Does that work?

That's exactly what I ended up doing. I understand that changing the shape is local to the file and won't affect other files, correct?
What is the minimum step size (in evpu) in shape designer for H and V?

The adjustment is file specific. If you want it program wide for new files, modify the "Maestro Default File". Older files are what they are.

The shape designer accepts fractional evpus but somehow I don't trust that. You should be OK with whole evpus.
